| Titre : | Terrestrial photogrammetry for the monitoring of a storage tank | | Type de document : | document multimédia | | Auteurs : | Salah eddine Kara, Auteur ; Ahmed Djaballah, Directeur de thèse | | Editeur : | Laghouat : Université Amar Telidji - Département de génie civil | | Année de publication : | 2025 | | Importance : | 105 p | | Note générale : | Option : Gematic and topography | | Langues : | Français | | Mots-clés : | Errestrial photogrammetry Storage tank monitoring 3D modeling Industrial inspection | | Résumé : | This thesis explores the feasibility of using terrestrial photogrammetry as an effective alternative for monitoring aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) in industrial environments. The study was conducted on two tanks located in M’sila, Algeria, using two imaging devices: a professional DSLR camera and a smartphone. Images were acqured from multiple angles and processed using different photogrammetric software tools, including Agisoft Metashape,Pix4Dmapper, and ITwin Capture Modeler.
The methodology involved creating 3D models and assessing their accuracy, reliability, and limitations. Key challenges such as shadow interference, grayscale surface reflectivity, and data voids due to occlusions were analyzed. The models were validated through comparative analyses with conventional measurement techniques. Verticality verification were conducted by comparing the models against total station measurements, while flatness verification was performed through geometric comparison with a best-fit cylinder.
The results demonstrated that terrestrial photogrammetry can produce accurate and cost-efficient 3D models suitable for tank monitoring, especially when combined with optimized shooting conditions and proper processing workflows. The study recommends expanding this approach to include different tank types and integrating other techniques such as LiDAR for enhanced results | | note de thèses : | Mémoire de master en génie civil |
