Bias in Mediation: Exploring the American Role in the Camp David Summit 2000 / Mohamed Seddiki

Mediation.Résumé : This research aims to critically analyse the American mediation during the Camp David
Summit in the year 2000, specifically whether the United States was biased in favour of Israel
to the prejudice of Palestine. The central aim is, therefore, to establish whether the US could
be deemed neutral and, therefore, efficient in the process of its diplomatic process within this
critical phase of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. To achieve this, the research retraces the
historical trajectory of US-Israeli diplomatic relations since 1948, in order to critically analyse
the way strategic, political, and economic variables influenced American intervention within
the Middle East Peace Process. The methodology used is qualitative method. This research
method provides a suitable tool to analyse critically the US intervention's motives at the Camp
David Summit, strategies used during the negotiation of the mediation, and the techniques of
negotiation and diplomatic moves that ensued. The results indicate an apparent bias in the US
approach in favour of Israel. Such bias is, however, evident in the strategies, diplomatic paths,
and narratives of American mediators during the summit. The research shows that the US
Israeli relationship, which is characterized by closeness due to strategic, political, and
economic support, actively shaped the process of peace overall and most of the time
disadvantaged the interests of Palestinenote de thèses : Master Degree In Literature And Civilization Bias in Mediation: Exploring the American Role in the Camp David Summit 2000 [texte manuscrit] / Mohamed Seddiki, Auteur ; Assia Guellil, Auteur . - Laghouat : University Amar Telidji - Department of English, 2024 . - 64 p + CD.

Muslims – Social movementRésumé : This study aims to identify both Islamophobia in the 21st century and the Muslims’
reaction as a form of a social movement under the name of Dismantling and Countering
Islamophobia, followed by a suggested case study that will expound on the phenomenon.
Islamophobia is a religion-based racism that affects millions of lives and threatened the
national security of multi-racial Western civilizations with the increasing levels of the
phenomenon in the modern world. However, Islamophobia is a liquid term and a shape
shifting phenomenon through periods and in various forms. This study approaches the
problem of misunderstanding and the conflicts between Islamophobic individuals and
Muslims, through theory study -Theory of Contact- and secondary data analysis provided
by various scholars to manage a potential success to reduce levels of prejudice and
discrimination among Westerners and Muslims followed by its hypothesis to be
demonstrated on both groups. The movement of Dismantling and Countering
Islamophobia wasn't that successful. Therefore, the application of Contact Theory is
highly needed to achieve higher results in the process of reducing prejudice and tension.
This study aims to provide a better and deeper understanding of the phenomenon and an
efficient tool to encounter it. Further progressive studies are needed to enhance and
develop more effective methods to encounter the phenomenon properly.note de thèses : Master Degree in civilization and Literature Conceptualizing Islamophobia and The Identification of American Muslims’ Reaction in the 21st Century : Case Study Contact Theory [texte manuscrit] / Ahmed Taha Brahimi, Auteur ; Mohamed Abdel Ellah Adjeb, Auteur ; Assia Guellil, Directeur de thèse . - Laghouat : University Amar Telidji - Department of English, 2023 . - + 1 disque optique numérique (CD-ROM).

to the formation of different perspectives due many parts to the media. The widely used social
media platform, Instagram is used by people to be updated with recent events. Instagram is a
platform that keeps getting updated with new features like algorithms. Therefore, how does
Instagram participate in shaping the public opinion during the Hamas- Israeli War? In light of
this, the present work aims at investigating the eminence and efficiency of Instagram in
shaping the public opinion during the Hamas- Israeli War. In order to reach this aim, content
analysis is adopted to analyse the collected qualitative data alongside the descriptive
analytical method. This study ultimately concludes that Instagram participates in shaping the
public opinion during the Hamas- Israeli war through providing a biased stand towards the
Israeli side. That is done through different means, such as limiting the freedom of speech of
pro- Palestinians, adopting algorithms that deprive pro- Palestinians from reaching the world
and the presence of several aspects when covering events related to the warnote de thèses : Master Degree In Literature And Civilization Content Assessment on Media Walking: the Role of Instagram in Shaping the Public Opinion During the Hamas- Israeli Conflict [texte manuscrit] / mohamed bachir rafik Khelloufi, Auteur ; Assia Guellil, Directeur de thèse . - Laghouat : University Amar Telidji - Department of English, 2024 . - 59 p + CD.
