Titre : The Grammar of Words : An Introduction to Linguistic Morphology Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Booij Geert, Auteur Editeur : Oxford [United Kingdom] : Oxford university press Année de publication : 2005 Importance : 308p Format : 17x24.5 cm. ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-19-925847-5 Note générale : 0199258473 Langues : Anglais Mots-clés : morphology word formation derivation compounding inflection interface morphology-syntax relations semantics
language processing changeRésumé : his book introduces the reader to the basic methods for the study of the internal structure of words, and to the theoretical issues raised by analyses of word structure concerning the organization of the grammars of natural languages. Data from more than sixty languages are used to illustrate these descriptive and theoretical issues. The book is structured into three main parts. In the first part the basic notions of morphology and morphological analysis are introduced, and attention is given to word formation (derivation and compounding), the basics of inflection, and inflectional systems. The second part, reflecting an important characteristic of this book, is the discussion of the interface between morphology and other modules of the grammar such as phonology, syntax, and semantics. It is shown that the formal structure of complex words is not necessarily isomorphic to their phonological or semantic structure. This book is comprehensive since it also deals, in its third part, with the relation between morphology and mind. Facts concerning the processing of complex words are used as a window on the human mind. Language change in the domain of word structure is also approached from that perspective. In a final summarizing chapter, it is shown how the book has taught a theoretically sophisticated notion ‘word’ and that there are different notions ‘word’ that should be recognized in a proper linguistic analysis. An index and glossary of terms, exercises (with answers), a language index, and advice for further reading are also provided. Titre : Experimental study of the ageing effect on the mechanical, physical and morphological properties of polyethylene Type de document : texte manuscrit Auteurs : Meriem Imane Babaghayou, Auteur ; Salem Fouad Chabira, Directeur de thèse Editeur : Laghouat : Université Amar Telidji - Département des sciences de la matière Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 136 p Format : 27 cm Accompagnement : 1 disque optique numérique (CD-ROM) Langues : Français Catégories : THESES :06 chimie Mots-clés : Unstabilized and stabilized LDPE films Photooxidation Chemical stability Morphology Thermal stability Mechanical properties Heterogeneity Résumé : The main focus in this work is to investigate the combined effect of photoageing and the processing parameters on the heterogeneity in the properties of the low density polyethylene LDPE films used as a greenhouse covering. This combined effect is complex but it is more realistic in simulating the effects on the greenhouse covering. Also, the greenhouse films are usually susceptible to mechanical loads in any direction during installation and service and therefore evaluation of these properties in different direction is of great importance for the greenhouse structural integrity. The LDPE films used in this study are single layer films of 180 μm thick produced by blown extrusion process. Two different types of films have been investigated, unstabilized and stabilized films, to study the impact of stabilizers on the rate of photoaging. The films have been exposed to natural weathering over 8 and 21 months for unstabilized and stabilized films, respectively. Different characterization techniques have been utilized to evaluate the deteriorative influence of photooxidation on the characteristics of both films. The chemical evolution of photooxidation products are evaluated using FTIR, ATR-FTIR and UV spectroscopy. The morphological changes are followed by POM and Synchrotron analysis. As the oxidation and thermal stability of polymers is considered to be one of the crucial criteria for their applicability, this latter have been evaluated by OIT, OOT and TGA methods. The mechanical properties of both films have been measured by two techniques, the Vickers microhardness and tensile tests.
The results indicated that the photooxidation affected significantly the film microstructure and consequently the mechanical properties. The stabilized film demonstrated much better mechanical stability. Considerable reduction in the tensile toughness of unstabilized film was observed. The unstabilized film became quite fragile after 6 months of exposure to sunlight to the extent it cannot be tested, while the stabilized film was exposed up to 21 months exhibiting much higher durability. The microhardness MH measurements show increasing trend with weathering time and the impact on the exposed face of the unstabilized film was more severe. The ageing resulted in heterogeneity in the films properties and the MH and ATR-FTIR techniques could be used to evaluate its level. The tensile tests show that the mechanical characteristics are dependent on the orientation of the sample illustrating that, the heterogeneity in the properties of the films is not only due to photooxidation but also due to the processing conditions.note de thèses : Thèse de doctorat en chimie Experimental study of the ageing effect on the mechanical, physical and morphological properties of polyethylene [texte manuscrit] / Meriem Imane Babaghayou, Auteur ; Salem Fouad Chabira, Directeur de thèse . - Laghouat : Université Amar Telidji - Département des sciences de la matière, 2017 . - 136 p ; 27 cm + 1 disque optique numérique (CD-ROM).
